With the health and safety of our guests and employees as a top priority, True North Sports + Entertainment has been monitoring the COVID-19 outbreak and its impact on the sports and entertainment industry for the past number of weeks. True North has been following the advice and best practices of Manitoba Health and has been assessing tours and events coming into our venues day-by-day.
Following announcements from both the NHL and AHL as well as from some of True North’s event touring partners, the following event updates are available pertaining to events and programming in True North’s venues:
Following the NHL’s decision to pause the 2019-20 season, the Winnipeg Jets have announced the suspension of play until further notice due to concerns over COVID-19. While we anticipate a resumption of play, we will continue to monitor developments while providing regular updates as they occur.
With the health and safety of players, staff, officials, and fans of primary importance, the American Hockey League and Manitoba Moose have announced the suspension of play until further notice due to concerns over COVID-19. Collectively, we will continue to monitor developments and provide updates on the 2019-20 season as they occur.
True North Concerts and Events
The impact of COVID-19 continues to prompt the review of a number of concerts and events across North America, including in Winnipeg. Fans with tickets to upcoming shows at Bell MTS Place and the Burton Cummings Theatre are encouraged to find more information on the TNSE Covid-19 Updates page and on social media for more information on the status of our events.
Bell MTS Iceplex
With public health and the safety of our guests and employees of the utmost concern at Bell MTS Iceplex, we have made the decision to postpone programming effective March 13 through March 31 in response to COVID-19.
Focus Fitness and the Press Box Restaurant will be closed. All Jets Hockey Development (JHD) Ice Lab sessions have been postponed. The Iceplex Adult Hockey League (IAHL) playoffs have been postponed. As per Hockey Canada and Hockey Manitoba’s previous announcement, all sanctioned programming has been cancelled.
True North Sports + Entertainment will continue to monitor the impact of COVID-19 and follow the best practices of Manitoba Health and our partner associations as we work to ensure the safe resumption of regular programming and services at Bell MTS Iceplex.‹ Main News
