On October 13, 2016, True North Sports + Entertainment began formally recognizing the history of the land on which Canada Life Centre is built. Since January 12, 2021, the land acknowledgement has been prominently recognized prior to the singing of the national anthem at every Winnipeg Jets home game. True North thanks Niigaan Sinclair for bringing meaning and understanding to our land acknowledgement.

Canada Life Centre, the Burton Cummings Theatre, hockey for all centre and Camp Manitou are located on Treaty One lands, the original territories of the Anishinaabe, Cree, Anisininew, Dakota, Lakota, Dene peoples, and the national homeland of the Red River Métis.
