From before the game even started until the last whistle of a 5-2 Jets victory over the Minnesota Wild, the atmosphere at Bell MTS Place was electric for the Winnipeg Jets Oct. 10 home opener.

That was in no small part thanks to the trio of drummer Brent Fitz, guitarist Derrick Gottfried, and bassist Chris Burke-Gaffney, who got the building rocking with a raucous, and first-ever live performance during the player introductions. It was a show Jets fans won’t soon forget, and it was a memorable experience for the musicians too.

“Did you see my smile?” asked Fitz shortly after wrapping up the performance. “My heart is going crazy. I’ve looked out into a crowd of 100,000 people. I’ve had that experience a few times on tour. But I’ve never had the experience of seeing NHL Jets player name bars in front of the drum kit walking out onto the ice. I don’t know if I can top that.”
